ドイツからメールです（Ⅱ）

I came in contact with sumo quite a long time ago. When I studied and had a hard time with my examinations I used to watch eurosport and the sumo bouts late in the night (they don't show it at prime time here in Europe). The first rikishi I saw at that time (and I still remember)were Takanohana, Akebono, Konishiki, Musashimaru, Chiyotaikai, Takatoriki, Kyokushuzan, Kotonowaka and of course Kaio. Takanohana, Kotonowaka and Kaio were always my favourites and I crossed my fingers for them and of this three, there is still Kaio, who remained in the ring and whom I can support a little. When I was in Tokyo this year I had also the chance to see some of Tomozuna's young rikishi and I crossed my fingers for them too. I was very sad that I couldn't see Kaio and Kaishoryu, who had only 2 bouts I think and had to give up (if I understood this right). I stayed the whole second week in the Tokyo, making a cultural program in the morning and at 12:00 I always tried to go to the bouts.
I would be very glad if I had the chance to see the morning practise at Tomozuna heya, when I return to Tokyo in May. I will stay in any case in Tokyo during the second week, but I think I will take also some days of the first week. I don't know exactly yet.
I think of them during the whole basho and that I cross my fingers for them all - hope I can still continue with my work ;-). I believe that they all do their best and that they will succeed :-).

私が相撲と出会ったのは、随分前です。私が試験勉強に苦しんでいるとき、
「ユーロスポーツ」（という番組）の中で、遅い時間に放映されている相撲をよく見ていたものでした
・・・ここヨーロッパでは、プライムタイムで（相撲は）放映されないんです。
・・・そのころ、・・・今もよく覚えているのですが・・・
初めて見た力士は、貴乃花、曙、小錦、武蔵丸、千代大海、貴闘力、旭鷲山、琴ノ若、そして、
もちろん魁皇でした。貴乃花、琴ノ若、そして魁皇は、いつも私のお気に入りで、
彼らの健闘を祈っていました。その3人の中で、魁皇だけが現役を続けているので応援しています。
今年、東京に行ったとき、何人かの友綱部屋の若い力士の方々を見ることができ、
彼らにもエールを送りました。私の記憶が間違っていなければ、
2戦で休場してしまった魁皇と魁将龍は見られなくてとっても残念でした。
第2週目にずっと東京にいて、朝、文化プログラムに参加して、
12時からいつも相撲を見にいくことを心がけていました。
5月にまた東京に行ったとき、友綱部屋の朝稽古を見るチャンスがもてれば、とても嬉しいです。
第2週目はいずれにしてもずっと東京にいます。1週目も何日かいれるかもしれません
・・・まだわかりませんが・・・
「今場所中、ずっと彼ら全員の健闘を祈り続けています。」
・・・自分の仕事がおろそかにならないといいけれど（笑）・・・
彼らが大活躍して、素晴らしい結果を出すことを信じています。

ところで、いよいよですね、春場所。あっちこっちで魁皇関の記事が出てきました。
ダイレクトに非難するなら、一笑に付したりしてますが、含みを持たせた厭味な記事って本当に・・・。
その反面、かなり応援、期待している記事もあって、そういうのを読むとほっとしたり。
いずれにしても、今場所、特に魁皇関のファンは応援に今まで以上に力が入るでしょうね・・・。
もちろん私もその一人・・・。 Ｈａｒｕｍｉ

いよいよ初日が近づいてきました。
魁皇の話題がいろいろな形で取り上げられていますが、それだけ皆様の関心があると云うこと。。
心して初日を迎えたいと思います。
